Sometimes I struggle with posts that do not fit into a certain format. It’s comes from years of experience in military logistics and the rigorous standards of academic writing.
So this Big Changes in 2017 post isn’t SEO friendly, which drives me nuts, but who is really going to do a Google search that would find this personal little post anyway!
So here goes. If you read my Year End 2016 post then you know it was a tough year for me and Paul. There were some really great highs, but we also got our asses handed to us more than once.
Big Changes in 2017
We spent the month of December talking, searching and sometimes ignoring our general life situation. We found a little apartment that seemed to fit all out needs, but something kept me from beginning the application process. 3 days or so after looking at the property I sat down to MAKE THINGS HAPPEN.
I try to be a responsible adult when it comes to the internet. It’s a great place to leave a (hopefully) positive review for just about any kind of establishment, but on the flip side people can say what they want, true or otherwise. So I take most reviews with a grain of salt.
What I read about this place made my blood pressure jump a bit though. It was enough for us to put the brakes on our plans and reconsider the situation. Here’s the thing, we aren’t in the best financial situation. In the last 3 years we both lost good paying jobs, which has it’s consequences. Long story short, we figured if we are going to drop serious cash to move, it might as well be somewhere interesting!
Take that idea, add a few whiskey cocktails, plus a wistful convo with an old military buddy of Paul’s, and suddenly we are moving to Columbus, Ohio! Yep, that’s right. We have decided if there is ever a time to through caution to the wind, take what little resources we have, and go on adventure, it’s now.
I will be a little sporadic over the next weeks as we leave Phoenix on January 31st. It’s a week long road trip because we are stopping along the way. I will finally get to see the kiddo!!! That’s makes this mama happy. Follow me on social media for more update-to-date updates, and I will be back with more news soon. You can also see new posts for me on the SoFabFood site and Discover, A Blog By World Market.
We are terrified, excited, and so ready to share this journey with you!
