This Blackberry Basil Spritzer has seasonal blackberries, fresh basil from the farmers market and a hint of lime muddled with sweet white wine and sparkling water.
Blackberry Basil Spritzer
One of my 2016 blog goals is to post more cocktail recipes. I mean the blog is called Thyme for Cocktails, right! It was a little embarrassing to realize it’s been a few months since my last boozy concoction.
I mean, we have been drinking plenty of them; they just aren’t making it on here. Which is just wrong since the whole point of a blog is to share what is going on in our lives. Just ask Boo, she insists on getting in the way of everything!
She’s can be a bit of an over-sharer though…
Anyway… How will you know about great recipes, like this Blackberry Basil Spritzer, if I don’t tell you? I am sincerely sorry for my lapse in judgement. To make up for it I will drink less and post about my drinks more.
Now go grab some blackberries, they have been on sale the last few weeks, fresh basil and a few limes. Use your favorite white wine and a little soda water for sparkle! If you like things a little sweeter, add a touch of honey for sweetness.
- 1 pint blackberries
- 1 lime, sliced into thin rounds
- 6-8 large basil leaves, chiffonade
- 1 bottle sweet white white
- Sparkling water
- Add blackberries, lime slices and basil to carafe or pitcher.

- Stir in wine. Top with sparkling water.
- Serve over ice in chilled glasses.
