Celebrate #NationalChocolateMilkshakeDay with this rich, creamy, Boozy Mint Chocolate Milkshake!
What is better than chocolate? More chocolate… and minty booze! National Chocolate Milkshake Day is one food holiday I can get behind. We made these decadent, uber chocolate milkshakes over the summer and they are ah-may-zing. Knowing there was a cool foodie holiday coming up right around the corner I decided to up the ante and create an adults-only treat.

Paul loves the combination of mint and chocolate so we decided to add minty twist to our milkshakes. With the gorgeous weather we had this week in Phoenix (yes, 98 degrees is nice to us!) we decided to take our shakes outside to enjoy our new bar. I am absolutely in love with this space. The monsoons slowed down our #DIY projects a bit but we are finally done.
Just look at that view!
For the mint part of our boozy milkshakes I added Brancamenta, a high-quality, natural half-bitter liqueur. Created by the family run Fratelli Branca Distillery, it has a proprietary blend of 40 herbs and spices, including cardamom and chamomile, that is aged for 12 months in Slovenian oak barrels.
It is traditionally served as a digestif, which is an alcoholic beverage consumed after a meal to aid in digestion. Brancamenta’s unique and fresh taste is derived from the addition of Piedmontese peppermint, the most refined mint available.
~Boozy Mint Chocolate Milkshake with Brancamenta mint liqueur~
We were so happy with this Boozy Mint Chocolate Milkshake it seemed a crime not to share. I used super chocolatey ice cream, with chunks of chocolate and a fudge ribbon running through it. Instead of using milk for the shakes, dark chocolate almond milk was a stellar substitute. We like our shakes thick so adjust the amount of milk based on personal preference.
The kid insisted on a non-boozy version too. Add don’t forget to top it all off with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
What is your favorite kind of milkshake?
Enjoy~

I was compensated for the products in this recipe. All opinions are my own.
I’ve never heard of Brancamenta but I’ll be on the lookout for it now! Thank you for sharing it, and for sharing this wonderful recipe too!
