At the end of the day we all need to make time for the passions that fuel our soul. Part of my Foodie Affair is creating compelling Vegetable Art which showcases nature’s beauty.
Several weeks ago I shared the story about how my Foodie Affair started several years ago with trips to our local farmers market in Arizona. Since moving to Ohio, I have been getting back into the routine of shopping the markets in my area. You can follow me on Instagram for updates and seasonal recipes. This story is a continuation of that love affair.
My Foodie Affair
There are so many reasons why I love the markets. The people, the sense of community, and feeling good about supporting our local economy. At the end of the day though there is simple beauty in nature’s creations. That simplicity has the ability to nurture your passions in more ways than creating delicious recipes.
The heart of Wente Vineyards is centered around their passion for making wine. I love how they encourage us all to #MakeTime for the activities that fuel our happiest parts! To be perfectly frank, this post is a day late because at the end of a busy week I needed to relax with a glass of Wente Morning Fog Chardonnay. So last night I pushed all thoughts of deadlines out of my mind, poured a glass, and spent the evening snuggled up with Paul.
In the beginning I took quick snapshots each week of the produce we brought home from the farmers market so I could share more about them with people on social media. It was a way to highlight what was in season and encourage others to support small business. Along the way though, the process morphed into a more artistic approach. A challenge to look forward to each week.
Even Marion likes to get in on the action. We are convinced she’s really a vegetarian and would love to be a market kitty 24/7 if we let her!
What fuels your passion? How do you #MakeTime for yourself so you can recharge?
