Ultimate Chocolatey Mochatini ~ Chocolate, coffee and booze…oh my! Enjoy a decadent, frosty cocktail with a kick!
If you poll the casa crew about their favorite beverages you will get a list consisting of everything from coffee, to chocolatey concoctions and numerous cocktails. For my recent birthday celebration I decided to combine them all into this delicious chocolate mocha martini.
When it comes to coffee Paul and I are on opposite sides of the fence. He likes his dark and hot. For me it has to be a good iced coffee with lots of flavor and richness. We live in Arizona folks, hot coffee during the summer doesn’t does’t cut it for this gal. But hey… Opposites attract, right?!
The one thing I don’t care for is the hassle of visiting a local coffee house to get my fix, not to mention the high prices. I was thrilled to find out International Delight Iced Coffee is now available in the refrigerated tea/juice section at Walmart. A carton of Mocha Light magically jumped into my cart and went directly into the ‘mom-only’ section of our fridge as soon as we got home.
How great is it to have ready-to-drink iced coffee right at your fingertips?
International Delight Iced Coffee isn’t just for the warmer months we seem to always have in Arizona either, it’s perfect in recipes all year long. Especially when you want a cocktail that is out of this world. The Caramel Macchiato flavor is next on my list to try, imagine it with a splash of apple vodka and a hint of dulce de leche. The foodie ideas are endless too…
I will level with you, this cocktail idea originated on a lazy Sunday morning after a trip to the farmers market. It is our favorite time of the weekend to indulge in a little brunch cocktailing. Whether it is a spicy Bloody Mary or maybe a little Irish cream in Paul’s dark brew, it’s always Thyme for Cocktails *wink*
A dash of chocolate liqueur was so tasty in my iced mocha why not take it to the next level and create a full on chocolate lovers mocha cocktail dream for my birthday celebration. I used a good quality chocolate liqueur AND chocolate vodka. You can easily substitute regular or even vanilla vodka instead, just stick with the good stuff so the iced mocha flavor shines through.
And have fun with the garnishes, think cocoa powder, chocolate sprinkles or even espresso powder for extra kick. First dip your chilled glass rims in chocolate syrup, then dip away!
