Two weeks ago I arranged a girl’s Sunday Funday for myself and a new friend. She is a younger single mom who rarely gets much time away from her littles. I promised to come up with a fun adults-only adventure when she suddenly had a day without kids. We started with a hot yoga, did a little shopping, and then finished with a late brunch.
Cucumber Ginger Whipped Body Butter
While shopping we browsed bath and beauty products. It blew my mind how expensive some of them are! The whole experience gave me the idea to make my own post yoga body scrubs. It’s fun to mix and match ‘flavors’ and scents like in my Blueberry Mojito Sugar Scrub. Half the time you already have the ingredients you need in your panty and/or refrigerator.
A lot of DIY Body Scrubs you find online are pretty great, it’s just they use essential oils which I don’t really have laying around. Mine tend to use real ingredients like berries, citrus, or fresh herbs, ingredients like lemon or thyme. You have to be careful they stay refrigerated, but other than that they are just a fun to use!
Cucumber and ginger are quite tasty in a cocktail, so it stands to reason they would make a great body butter too. You can keep this Cucumber Ginger Whipped Body Butter all to yourself, or be generous and give a batch to your best gal pals. Another idea is to have them bring a bottle of wine to your place and exchange it for the privilege of making this body scrub together!
Cucumber Ginger Body Scrub
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 1/4 cup shea butter
- 1/4 cup diced cucumber
- 2 tsp grated ginger
- 1/4 cup organic palm sugar
- Add all ingredients except sugar to a food processor. Mix until whipped and fluffy.
- Stir in palm sugar. Store in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
