DIY Gel Air Fresheners
Do you have a pet who has no idea they aren’t a person? The kind who are so absolutely spoiled they run your household? Well, that’s my Marion Jane, better known as Boo. If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat you have seen her antics. Goofy girl pretty much inserts herself into EVERYTHING! lol [bctt tweet=”DIY Gel Air Fresheners #spring #fresh #MarionJane #kittygirl”] People who say cats have aloof personalities have never met this little kitty girl. She is my complete shadow day in and out. I have worked from home since Paul and I got her almost 2 years ago, and she gets separation anxiety if she isn’t included in all our casa activities. Put it this way, she is worse than a toddler when I try to use the bathroom alone… She hates closed doors! You should see her trip out when I wash her blanket. She will sit in front of the wash machine watching it go round and round until it’s done. And don’t even get me started on the hair ties. She is obsessed with them! I have to hide them otherwise she will squirrel them away in the oddest places. Luckily, Elanor our older cat, aka the Old Lady, is pretty laid back. She has a favorite sunny spot in the loft where she spends the day napping until the kid gets home. Then it’s off to his room for the night. She’s 14 and enjoying her twilight years. I love that we have more room in the new casa for the girls. It was a tough transition losing our boy cat Renegade after 12 years, then moving a few weeks later. The girls weren’t sure about anything at first, but have since settled into our new home. They even have their own bathroom! Well… not really, it’s actually the downstairs half bath but it’s big enough for their litter box and food station without getting crowded. The draw back is that it’s also the “company” bathroom, so I am pretty particular about keeping it tidy and smelling nice. Cat’s Pride® Fresh & Light Ultimate Care® Hypoallergenic Unscented Multi-Cat Scoop Litter keeps the box in great shape, while my DIY Gel Air Fresheners give the room a pleasant scent. Ultimate Care has strong clumps which makes scooping easier, plus low dust and doesn’t track all over the bathroom floor. It’s now over 50% lighter at 10 lbs (†See packaging for details) with 10+ day odor control & powerful absorption (*Based on laboratory testing, when used as directed).
I love that Cat’s Pride® is proud to partner with the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation™ to help end the needless suffering of animals. A portion of every sale of Fresh & Light Ultimate Care® supports the Foundation and their mission to end animal cruelty. They also partner with and support the American Humane Association as well. A big plus for this rescue mama! Look for the Ultimate Care NEW packaging in the green bottle with silver lid at your local Walmart. I am a fan of the hypoallergenic unscented version, but there is a scented version too. DIY Gel Air Fresheners
Because Boo is sooo curious about everything I am always leery about using commercial air fresheners. After scouring Pinterest I was able to come up with these homemade gel air fresheners with all natural ingredients that won’t hurt curious kitties! My recent favorite is a light floral scent to match my Easter daisies! The great thing about these DIY Gel Air Fresheners is you can customize them with different essential oils. I am a fan of light, bright citruses smells in the spring. Love florals? Want warm inviting scents in the fall? Experiment to your heart’s content knowing these are all natural and homemade. You can add food coloring and artificial decorations like flowers or colored beads to match your decor. They are really fun gift ideas too. A light floral scent in a pretty glass jar with a coordinating ribbon would be a sweet gift for Mother’s Day! You don’t need a lid on these DIY Gel Air Fresheners but it will help them last longer. Here in the desert I get about 3-4 weeks use before it is time to start over. Have questions about your favorite feline? Check the Cat’s Pride Cat Matters site for advice on every stage of your furry friend’s life! Enjoy~ Loriann
