Drunken Garlic Sloppy Joe Sliders


  • 2-3 tbsp bacon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper diced
  • 2 large cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup light beer
  • 3 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • Salt and peper to taste
  • slider buns or soft rolls
  • Sliced jalapeno peppers for topping
  • Crispy onions for topping


  • Heat oil in a large covered skillet over medium high heat. Add onions and peppers, cook 2-3 minutes.
  • Mix in garlic and tomato paste, cook 1-2 minutes.
  • Add ground beef to skillet, break up with a spatula or wooden spoon. Cook until beef is just browned, 3-5 minutes. Stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in beer, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, and barbecue sauce.
  • Cover and reduce heat to medium low.
  • Simmer 10-15 minutes until sauce thickens and beef is cooked.
  • Serve on slider sun or soft rolls with fresh jalapeno slices and crispy onions.
